Discover Ship Cove

Disembark at Ship Cove and explore the Captain Cook’s favourite anchorage. The bush clad hills and pristine water are still as they were in 1770 when Cook visited on the first of his voyages to NZ. Early Maori also inhabited this wonderful area. Take the time to study the informative interpretation panels that explain the fascinating interaction between the two cultures. A short 30 min bush walk to a picturesque waterfall is well worth exploring, or simply relax and enjoy a picnic lunch on a waka shaped picnic table and listen to the birdsong. Toilet facilities and a shelter are available. Cruise back to Picton via Endeavour Inlet
