With over 21 years of taking walkers to and from the track we have streamlined a system whereby all you need is a small day pack and when you arrive at your next destination your personal belongings are waiting for you *.

Carry only your camera and a small day pack each day - Cougar Line sends on your luggage, whether to lodge, resort, homestay, backpackers or campsite.

The Cougar Line is the best way to discover the Queen Charlotte Sound in freedom.

*While we take all reasonable care of your luggage please understand luggage passes through a number of different hands a day. Therefore luggage is transferred at owner’s risk.

	Walk, bike or kayak? Decide how you want to visit the track and work out how many days you wish to spend on the track. Most visitors choose to hike the track over 4 days (3 nights) Walk Bike Kayak

	Choose your accommodation. Choose from campsites, backpackers, resorts & lodges or comfortable homestays along the track. Or else choose a guided or unguided walk or bike where everything is arranged for you. Reservations are ESSENTIAL. Select Accommodation

	Book your transport. Book your transport with Cougar Line for the duration of your stay on the track. We carry your luggage each day free of charge to your accommodation along the track. Book with Cougar Line

The Queen Charlotte track

The Queen Charlotte Track experience begins with a scenic boat trip from Picton. It takes approx 1 hour for the trip to historic Ship Cove which marks the beginning of The Queen Charlotte Track.

The 71km coastal walking track stretches from historic Ship Cove to Anakiwa in the spectacular Marlborough Sounds which enjoys a temperate climate and allows good year-round walking conditions. The walk or bike ends at Anakiwa. Because walkers and mountain bikers all move in the same direction at their own pace the track feels uncrowded and tranquil.

Visitors to the Queen Charlotte Track will find this a unique walk as it passes through lush coastal forest, historic bays, and along skyline ridges with unsurpassed views of Queen Charlotte and Kenepuru Sounds. This walk is as much about a walking holiday as it is an environmental, cultural and lifestyle experience.

Boat Departures from Picton

Summer: October - April	to Ship Cove: 8:00am, 10:00am & 1:30pm to Mistletoe Bay: 11:30am
Winter: May - September	9:00am & 1:30pm

During peak season a 6:00 pm departure will take walkers as far as Resolution Bay.
Pickups can be arranged from Mistletoe Bay or Torea Bay.
Return scheduled departures from the end of the track at Anakiwa leaves daily 4pm.
Please note that the boat will leave earlier if everyone has arrived.
