Testimonials

A Cougar Line boat leaves a wake in the calm water as it cruises through the Marlborough Sounds, New Zealand.

We had a day to explore the Queen Charlotte Sound and decided to walk from Ship Cove to Furneaux Lodge. Cougar Line organises everything. If you want to spend a few nights walking along the whole Sound (75kms) you can. You can cycle it all or walk it - or do whatever section you choose. The intermittent views are amazing - walking is mainly on the path in the bush. The wildlife and the birdsong are wonderful companions. Worth doing, if only once……..

The Marlborough Sounds water, hills and full moon at sunset, Marlborough, New Zealand.

Used their transfer service and luggage transfer service for the Queen Charlotte Track and I can not recommend them highly enough! Luggage delivered at all spots promptly and returned to Picton. No hassle. Transfer service was efficient and informative on the way to Shipn Cove. The ladies in the office were all fabulous and so friendly. Will always use Cougar Line!!

Lush green New Zealand punga tree ferns and bush are reflected in the tranquil blue waters of the Marlborough Sounds, New Zealand.

Wow what a great day. The boat ride through Queen Charlotte Sound was amazing and then I was dropped at Resolution Bay for a lovely walk to Furneaux Lodge where I had a wonderful lunch waiting for the boat back to Picton. It was perfect weather ie not too hot but very pleasant. The walk was lovely with some great views of the water and not too challenging for a fairly fit 70 year old. A magical and very satisfying day.

A cluster of native New Zealand tree ferns in the Marlborough Sounds, New Zealand.

We hiked the full length of the Queen Charlotte Track and used Cougar Line to have our bigger luggage transported to our accommodation every day.

We had booked a few months prior to arriving in Picton, and once we did arrive and came to pay for the pre-arranged services, the staff had all the info ready. Everything ran like a well-oiled wheel in this company. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, too. Excellent service. Would definitely use Cougar again in the future and highly recommend them to anyone else, too.

What a brilliant service this company provide. They were so helpful and quick at responding when planning our hike on the Queen Charlotte Tnrack. We pre-booked and paid on the morning of our pick up at their office on Picton Waterfront. They drop you off at any number of points along the track and take your luggage to your accommodation that night which enables you to hike with just a light day pack. They then pick you up from said location (or take your gear to another location further down the track if you are walking for more than one day - we just did the 10 miles from Ship Cove to Ferneaux Lodge) at an arranged date and time. Cannot recommend this small, friendly and incredibly organised company more. Thank you for making our trip seamless.
